Snow Groomer Operator Part-Time/Seasonal
General Purpose: Perform a variety of skilled tasks and operate Tucker or Piston Bully Groomer, grooming forest snowmobile trails.
Duties and Responsibilities

Operate a snow groomer and attachments

Operate a variety of light equipment such as pickup trucks, compressors, chain saws.

Check on avalanche conditions provided by Forest Service.

Keep extra boots, coats and gloves with you in the groomer at all times.

Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles such as oil changes, filter, fan belts, greasing and tire change, if needed.

Work unsupervised in remote winter conditions at night

Check with supervisor each work day

Maintain log books and machine reports
Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

Must have valid driver's license

Must be able to evaluate winter mountain conditions such as oncoming storms or avalanche danger. Be able to determine when conditions are not safe and return to the grooming shed.

Must be able to identify and use standard hand tools and mechanized equipment used to maintenance and repair operations. Must be able to fill fluids and transfer fuel to equipment.

Good physical condition and stamina to perform a variety of physical work, such as shoveling snow.

Ability to read and use maps & GPS

Ability to use cell phones and VHF Public Radio Protocol

Maintain a cell phone in working order for the duration of employment.
Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Preferred experience in grooming, mechanical or heavy equipment.
Pay Range: Starting at $14.00/hr. Depending on experience Published: October 3, 2022
